SEASON 2 EPISODE 9 |Flourish in the Foreign - Black Women Living & Thriving Abroad

In this episode of, Flourish in the Foreign, Lisa shares her story of returning to the US after over a decade in Asia.

Meet Lisa

A native Philadelphian, Lisa returned to the US after over a decade in Asia. With degrees from Sarah Lawrence, NYU/ICP, and executive certificates in values-based leadership and social impact strategy from DePaul University, University of Pennsylvania/Ortner Center, and Cornell University, she is a bit of a nerd but not a typical academic.

As well as running The Homesteadista, she is a leadership coach (Tall Poppies + Co). She supports women CEOs and directors building businesses and organizations with transformative and inclusive organizational systems where everyone thrives. Additionally, she's the founder of CitySchoolista, a new social justice project for city moms and their kids.

She's a 4.0 Schools and VELA New Normal fellow. She's also a SuperMajority Leader, graduate of the National Democratic Committee Staff Training, Ortner Center/UPenn Teaching Fellow and UBS X Luminary Fellow, mayoral appointed board member of FPAC (Philadelphia Food Policy Council), a trained "Playing Big" facilitator, Poynter Koch Media and Journalism Fellow, and Lenfest New Generation Grant Awardee.

When she's not wearing multiple hats as a WFHM (work from home mom), she's feng shuiing the house or pretending she's a contestant on "Chopped. On those days when she's not editing the magazine, she can be found in girly convo with her daughter, laughing with friends over a good meal, with her nose in a terrific book, or making like Buddha, and sitting still.
